How to Prepare Coffee with the V60: Recipe, Measurements, and Step-by-Step Tips
The V60 is a precision tool that highlights the clarity and fruity notes of the finest coffees. Here is the tested recipe from Garage Coffee Bros.
Parameters: 15 grams of Specialty coffee ground medium-fine (table salt consistency), 250 grams of filtered water at 94°C (ratio 1:16.7).
• Place the paper filter in the dripper and rinse it with boiling water to remove the paper taste and warm the server. Discard the water.
• Add the ground coffee, level it, and start the timer on the scale.
• Bloom (pre-infusion): pour 40 grams of water, wetting all the grounds, and wait 45 seconds. This step releases trapped CO2, promoting even extraction.
• Subsequent pours: pour in a spiral from the center outward up to 150 grams, then a second pour up to a total of 250 grams.
• The complete drainage should finish between 2:30 and 3:30 minutes. If it drains too quickly, tighten the grind; if it stops, widen it. Hario filters and equipment are available at the Verona Store or in our e-shop.
