How to Prepare Coffee with Batch Brew: What It Is and Why Professionals Use It

In Italy, Batch Brew is sometimes confused with the "American coffee" found at service stations, but they are different things. In the best international Specialty coffee shops, Batch Brew (automatic filter extraction with machines certified like the Moccamaster) is among the most requested morning beverages because it ensures consistency over large volumes without the thermal over-extraction defects of espresso.

Professional systems electronically control the water temperature between 92°C and 95°C and distribute it over the coffee bed with a spray showerhead that replicates the movements of manual pour-over. The liquid is collected in an insulated thermos server, without heating plates, preserving the aromas even beyond 45 minutes. It uses a reference dose of 60 grams of fresh coffee per 1 liter of filtered water.
